The smell of pine wafts through the air
Bitter, with a feeling of nature
The wind carries it like a fluffy cushion
From tall trees growing up
To the noses of the animals
Low bushes try to grab light
For they are in the shade of the giant trees
But they manage to live without much light
Maybe because they are not that tall
Grass grows on the clearings
Where the light is great
And the rain is plentiful
They form a soft ground
And attract many grazers
That need it to live
I stare at this scene
And admire its beauty
As I can only wish
That some of the human world
Can be like this
Bitter, with a feeling of nature
The wind carries it like a fluffy cushion
From tall trees growing up
To the noses of the animals
Low bushes try to grab light
For they are in the shade of the giant trees
But they manage to live without much light
Maybe because they are not that tall
Grass grows on the clearings
Where the light is great
And the rain is plentiful
They form a soft ground
And attract many grazers
That need it to live
I stare at this scene
And admire its beauty
As I can only wish
That some of the human world
Can be like this

Free Verse: Snowman

I was asleep as it started
the white snow came falling down
like a slow waterfall
I awoke to a cool winter morning
and put on my heavy coat
I rushed outside to a flurry of snow
the snowflakes where huge
and much of it had fallen
so I made a ball of snow
The snow was sticky
perfect for a snowman
so I rolled my ball
and made a beautiful head
then a body with buttons
and a large bottom for support
and in a few short minutes
I had made a big snowman
He had sparkling coal eyes
and a large carrot nose
but what I liked the most
was his grinning mouth.
the white snow came falling down
like a slow waterfall
I awoke to a cool winter morning
and put on my heavy coat
I rushed outside to a flurry of snow
the snowflakes where huge
and much of it had fallen
so I made a ball of snow
The snow was sticky

Sonnet: Storm

The wind makes the grass sway
and make the tall trees bend
the clouds and sky are gray
all the birds quickly ascend
and the flash of lightning strikes
and the roll of thunder booms
the broken treetops form spikes
as the worst of the storm looms
the hot lightning burns the treetops
and the flames lick down to the ground
the clouds darken and the heavy rain drops
........but then the storm clears
........and the light of the sun appears
and make the tall trees bend
the clouds and sky are gray
all the birds quickly ascend
and the flash of lightning strikes
and the roll of thunder booms
the broken treetops form spikes
as the worst of the storm looms
the hot lightning burns the treetops
and the flames lick down to the ground
the clouds darken and the heavy rain drops
........but then the storm clears
........and the light of the sun appears

Bear the Hare
went to the county fair
and bought some cotton candy
which became very sandy
when he dropped it on the beach
where the large waves reach
so Bear went to go get a tan
when the waves got larger Bear ran
back to the fair
and saw the lady with hair
and the man who made big balloons
and even a talking baboon
then the sun started to set
so he climbed into his corvette
and drove away from the fair
that was the story of Bear the Hare
went to the county fair
and bought some cotton candy
which became very sandy
when he dropped it on the beach
where the large waves reach
so Bear went to go get a tan
when the waves got larger Bear ran
back to the fair
and saw the lady with hair
and the man who made big balloons
and even a talking baboon
then the sun started to set
so he climbed into his corvette
and drove away from the fair
that was the story of Bear the Hare

The earth quakes with rage
A crack is torn in the ground
Buildings are knocked down
Then the rage turns to fury
But when it cools, the quake ends
A crack is torn in the ground
Buildings are knocked down
Then the rage turns to fury
But when it cools, the quake ends
